Tech Coast Angels – Christmas Charity Event 12-8-2010

I recently had the pleasure of doing a photo shoot with print on demand for Tech Coast Angels www.westcoastangels.com.  Tech Coast Angels is a local group of Investor’s who help new business start ups.  This event was a fund raiser for local charities like shoes that fit www.ShoesThatFit.org charities and was a very warm spirited event with some awesome people with a common goal to invest in dreams of others to build a business, they also provide hands on mentoring and help raise additional venture capital.  The on-site portraits were a real success – being the first photo shoot requiring  print on demand was a challenge and we worked out all the bugs as we worked through the event, nonetheless the pictures came out awesome and were a real hit.  I want to thank my assistant Rebecca of www.rebeccaescobarphotography.com for her help.  Here are some of the pictures I captured.

Haley & Ryan Maternity Shoot Nov. 2010

I just got through doing my first Maternity shoot with Haley and Ryan, and all I can say is they are a great couple and will definitely be great parents.  When we first met Haley was quite nervous and said she didn’t know what to do – all I said is be yourself and enjoy the moment with Ryan during the shoot.  Wow, is all I can say, she did great and is a beautiful mother to be.  The photoshoot was a gift from the groom’s friend Mike Beruman as a Christmas gift.  I hope you all enjoy the pictures as much as I did taking them… www.californiapixels.com

Gorilla Lighting workshop 11-8-2010

It was a great day working with Ben and his gorilla workshop, we had two great models Alexandra and Victoria – and 7 eager students wanting to learn Gorilla lighting.  The first part of the day Ben held his lecture, followed by some in classroom studio shooting with portable strobes  followed by some group discussion.  Later in the afternoon we moved to a nice area off Barranca in Azusa to capture some awesome sunset shots using two portable strobes and teaching the class how to use proper exposing techniques to capture dramatic lighting.  The indoor shots we used standard 3 light setup followed by some split lighting techniques.  The outdoor shots we needed to bring our the Alienbee portable storbe with the Alien Bee 22″ Beauty Dish.  I hope you enjoy the shots.
